Background: Sunbrella is the fabric of choice for specifiers and consumers globally. The fabric has been widely adopted for shade structures, marine canvas and upholstery fabric for both outdoor and indoor applications. IFEX (Indonesia Furniture Expo) promotes Indonesian products to international and local buyers. The show has a strong focus on outdoor furniture and ingredient materials.
Solution: Lucas was asked to develop a design solution that highlighted the diverse range of material applications for Sunbrella. Our structure in Jakarta blurred the lines between indoor and outdoor architectural forms. For the second year in a row, Sunbrella was awarded best of show (medium size), Indonesia Furniture Expo 2018. The IFEX design solution was an extension of the international design language Lucas developed for locations around the world.
